UFC Has Lifted Lifetime Ban On MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani

Dave Sholler of the UFC, released a statement that confirms that Ariel Helwani’s and MMA FIghting’s lifetime ban has been lifted.

Moments before, Lance Pugmire of the LA Times, tweeted that the ban had been lifted, but there was no confirmation.

One of the most recognized MMA journalists, Helwani was given a lifetime ban at UFC 199 do to him breaking the news of Brock Lesnar signing with the UFC before the company did. The organization had a promo video set to air during the PPV, but Helwani received the information from several of his sources prior. Dana White had Helwani and his crew, Esther Lin and Casey Leydon, escorted out of the building, and their credentials revoked.

I’m glad this situation is resolved and we can most forward. This is a win for MMA journalist.
