Interview: Bret Adams Wants To Be Exciting While Collecting Titles

Bret Adams is the Valor Fights Amateur Bantamweight champion. With an 8-1 amateur record, he is a top-level fighter in his weight class. Adams has won four amateur belts, including the Valor Fights title.

The Valor Fights champion says he grew up watching his dad box.

“When the belt is on the line there is a little bit of pressure at first, but then you’re just focused on the man locked in the cage with you.”

I asked Adams where he sees himself in five years, he would like to be in One FC, but if Bellator or the UFC calls, he wouldn’t say no. If Adams could fight anyone in the world, he would fight Dominick Cruz. According to Adams, Cruz is overrated.

Living in Panama City, FL, Adams could be distracted due to the partying and college students on vacation around the area. Adams believes he is too focused to be distracted. His most prized accomplishment in MMA is taking his opponents belt in their hometown. Adams’ goal in MMA is to be the best fighter possible while simultaneously being the most exciting fighter he can be.

Congratulations to Bret Adams on his recent title win, and best of luck in the rest of his career.
