When the original UFC 200 main event fell out, a rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz, there were many speculated fights thrown out. The most outlandish matchup was Georges St. Pierre returning to face Nate Diaz.
As of this morning, our new main event will be Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier 2, and this fight will unify the light-heavyweight title.Daniel Cormier won the vacant belt against Anthony Johnson
Daniel Cormier won the vacant belt against Anthony Johnson at UFC 187, after Jon Jones was stripped of the title for his issues out of the cage. Jon Jones defeated late replacement Ovince Saint Preux this past weekend at UFC 197, to win the interim light-heavyweight title; this was after DC pulled from the fight due to a leg injury.
Many people were writing Daniel Cormier off for the originally scheduled rematch, saying it would be the same outcome as their first fight. With Jon Jones’ lackluster performance at UFC 197, people are being swayed the other direction, and even Daniel Cormier feels that this Jon Jones doesn’t have a chance.
Who do you see taking all the marbles in the rematch?
