Thomas Almeida entered the UFC with a 16-0 record, and all wins coming by a finish of some sort. Now 4-0 in the UFC, with only one decision, Almeida says he still has people who doubt him. In order to hush the haters, Almeida has decided to call out one of the biggest names in the sport, Urijah Faber.
“I don’t choose very much, but I think Faber would be a great challenge in my career,” Almeida told Combate. “He’s very good, he is famous and is good at wrestling. Many people say I haven’t proven myself yet, so hopefully that would shut them up and everyone would see how well trained and confident I am. I’m a big fan of Faber and he’s above me in the rankings.”
Thomas Almeida is coming off of a sensational first round knockout over Anthony Birchak at UFC Fight Night 77. There have been fighters calling out Almeida as well, and Faber takes on Frankie Saenz on December 12, at UFC 194, in Las Vegas. So there’s no clue who will be next for Almeida.
