For the first time in his professional career, Juan Adams made it out of the first round, and to no fault of his own. With only 3 pro fights under his belt, Adams faced a tough Chris De La Rocha, who was going into his 4th UFC bout.
Adams admitted in his post fight interview with Jon Anik that he had some first round jitters, but you never would be able to notice with the constant assault of punches Adams landed on De La Rocha’s face, which would eventually open up a cut over the eye.
Going into the third round, both fighters looked fatigued, De La Rocha more so. Adams picked up the pace and went in for a “TJ Dillashaw” type finish, according to Daniel Cormier, with 15 unanswered strikes.
Big win for Juan Adams in his UFC debut. Although he didn’t call out anyone in his post fight interview, I’m curious to know if he path will lead to Greg Hardy, someone he’s called out in the past.
