Legacy Fighting Alliance Returns Home to Houston For #LFA35, Featuring the Return of Nick Newell

Legacy Fighting Alliance returns to Houston, TX on March 9 for LFA 35. The event takes place at the Arena Theater, and the main card will air on AXS TV.

The main event will be for the vacant Women’s Flyweight title. Sabina Mazo (4-0) will take on Silvana Gomez Juarez (6-1) for the belt once held by Andrea Lee; Lee vacated the title after signing with the UFC.

Mazo has back-to-back head-kick knockout wins over Jamie Thorton and Linsey Williams in her most recent fights. Nothing would be better for Mazo than to land a head-kick knockout hat trick, while claiming the LFA title.

Juarez will be making both her US and LFA debut in the title fight. The Argentinian vet turned pro in 2010, and has five stoppages in her six wins.

After more than two years away from the sport due to injuries, Nick Newell (13-1), a congenital amputee born without a left hand, returns to MMA in his LFA debut. Newell will co-headline the card against Sonny Luque (8-6). Luque is a onetime Bellator fighter, and is 4-1 in his last five fights.
