I was a little late to the John Wick party. The crime thriller shot up to the top of my list in the genre after seeing Keanu Reeves hunt down the man who stole his car and killed his puppy.
The much-anticipated sequel to the 2014 hit picks up where Chapter 1 left off. John Wick [Keanu Reeves] is looking to get out of the hitman business, but needs to recover his car that was taken in the previous movie. Soon after, John is forced out of retirement by a former associate plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild. Bound by a blood oath to help him, John travels to Rome where he squares off against some of the world’s deadliest killers.
If you liked the Chapter 1, you will really like Chapter 2. If you haven’t seen the original, it’s filled with a lot of violence. Chapter 2 has beautifully choreographed fight scenes where John Wick uses a lot of techniques you would see in an MMA fight. Judo, wrestling, BJJ, all of these are displayed in the fight scenes. I will definitely watch John Wick 2 again.
