Gabriel Gonzaga (17-10 MMA, 12-9 UFC) was originally set to face Ruslan Magomedov (14-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 86 in Croatia, but a knee injury forced Magomedov off the card.
Rising heavyweight prospect, Derrick Lewis (14-4 MMA, 5-2 UFC) took to twitter to let the UFC know he would take the fight on short notice.

The UFC obliged, and Derrick Lewis will get his shot at the former title challenger, and continue his rise up the rankings. Lewis is currently on a 2-fight winning streak, his most recent win was a first round TKO over Damian Grabowski at UFC Fight Night 82. Gabriel Gonzaga is 1-3 in his last four fights. Winning his most recent bout via decision against Konstantin Erokhin at TUF 22 Finale.
UFC Fight Night 86 takes place April 10 at Zagreb Arena in Zagreb, Croatia. The card will air on FOX Sports 1, except for the early prelims, which will air on UFC Fight Pass. This will also be the UFC’s first event in the Eastern European country.
