As previously reported, Bellator will make its way to Houston, TX, February 19 for Bellator 149. Kimbo Slice (5-2) now has an opponent, he will face his former bodyguard, Dhafir Harris (2-0), also known as ‘Dada 5000′.
Dada has had the attention on him recently with the release of the backyard street fighting documentary,’Dawg Fight‘. The film details the life of Dada 5000, and the backyard street fighting enterprise he built, which is also where Kimbo Slice got his notoriety in fighting.
Also announced today, one of MMA’s pioneers and UFC hall of famer Royce Gracie, returns to the cage at 48 years old. He will face Ken Shamrock in a rubber match; Shamrock is 51 years old. The two MMA pioneers fought in 1993 at UFC 1, and in 1995 at UFC 5. Gracie won the first match via rear-naked choke, their second match ended in a draw after going 36 minutes.
Shamrock last fought at Bellator 138 against Kimbo Slice, and lost in the first round via TKO. Gracie hasn’t competed in MMA since June 2, 2007. He won a unanimous decision over Kazushi Sakuraba at Dynamite USA. Following the fight, Gracie tested positive for anabolic steroids, but the results were not changed.
