Video: Stephen A. Deflects While Responding to #UFC246 Criticism On Donald Cerrone

Stephen A. Smith is arguable to the most well known sports personality in the world. But at UFC 236, he didn’t give just give an opinion on McGregor vs Cerrone, but he questioned the character and legitimacy of not only Cerrone, but also McGregor, the UFC, and MMA as a sport.

“I’m quite disgusted,” Smith said. “Let me be very, very clear: I’m honored to be up here with you guys. I’m a spectator watching the sport. I expected to see more than 40 seconds. I predicted McGregor was going to win this fight inside of two rounds. I thought he would take him out.

“Here’s the deal: 15 seconds in, ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone was done. He got hit with those shoulders in the clinch, and he was done. It look like he gave up. It was just an atrocious performance on his part.”

If Stephen A. would have stopped at, “I thought he would take him out”, that would have been fine. But to say Cowboy “gave up”, that’s is the opinion of someone who is ignorant to MMA, and also, has never been in an actual fight.

After receiving criticisms from the MMA world, followed up with more from Joe Rogan, Stephen A. took to Twitter to tease a response.

Listen to Stephen A. respond to Joe Rogan saying he isn’t good for the sport of MMA. He doesn’t address the issue of questioning the heart of Cowboy, just deflects from his ignorance.

No clue if Stephen A. will make a statement about that mitt video.
