Remember the Name: Sam Tamayo

At 4-2, Shamrock FC’s 22-year-old Welterweight, Sam Tamayo, looks to add another win to his record. At Shamrock FC 273 on July 23, Tamayo takes on Reggie Evans. Although Tamayo is an amateur, he plans to start his pro career within the next year. MMA became a part of Sam’s life while he was a kid. He was a fan of the UFC and when he got to high school he decided to wrestle. Currently, cross training at CMMA and War Room MMA, Tamayo looks to become the best fighter he can possibly be.

Tamayo plans to come out of the cage victorious against Evans. He wants to break his will first and then get the win. Tamayo feels he can get the win if he strikes well and defends the takedowns; he also believes he can get a TKO win on Saturday night if he follows the game plan.

If Sam Tamayo had the choice to fight any fighter in the world it would be either Anderson Silva or Georges St-Pierre. He looks up to them and admires their skills inside the cage. In three years, in Sam Tamayo’s perfect world, he sees himself in a big promotion like the UFC. He believes the sky is the limit. His most prized accomplishment in MMA is winning his first career fight with a 23-second knockout. His goal in MMA is to make it to a large promotion and be a student of the sport.
