Video: Alex Morono Successful On Short Notice UFC 195 Debut

Stepping up on 11 days notice, former Legacy Fighting Champions Welterweight Champion Alex Morono, went into UFC 195 and earned a split decision (29-28×2, 27-30) victory over Kyle Noke.

Kyle Noke started the fight off strong, but a right hand from Alex, which broke Noke’s nose, seemed to change the pace of the fight.

Morono constantly walked Noke down, looking to land big, looping shot. There was a brief scramble on the ground in the second round, where both fighters took each others back, but eventually Noke would finish the round with some good ground and pound.

Going into the third, Noke’s nose continued to leak, and Morono showed no signs in slowing down. In the final seconds of the fight, Noke secured a takedown, but Morono looked in an armbar that looked close to breaking Noke’s arm. Noke was able to survive the round, but ultimately lost the decision.

Alex Morono is the second Legacy champion to defeat Noke in the octagon. With this being his third fight in just over three months, I’m sure he will take some time off, especially after the fight he just went through.
