The Real Reason Mike Tyson Isn’t A Fan Of Floyd Mayweather

When I first saw the video of Mike Tyson giving his prediction about the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight, although a bit harsh, I respected it because it was Tyson giving it. I thought he was giving an honest opinion about the fight.

The people’s opinions I don’t listen to, those who base their picks off of emotion. Manny people are picking Pacquiao purely because they hate/dislike Mayweather because of what he has done outside of the ring. This is a fight, not a popularity contest.

A story just broke that suggested the reason Tyson is picking Pacquiao, is because of a previous incident that happened between Tyson and Mayweather.

But according to Boxing Junkie, there’s another reason why Tyson may not be a big Mayweather fan. They just released a report indicating that Mayweather may have played a role in a police raid that took place at Tyson’s Las Vegas home back in 2001. In their report, they spoke with Tyson’s former assistant Darryl Francis about the alleged incident, which Tyson wrote about in his 2013 book,Undisputed Truth.

Francis claims Mayweather instructed a woman to file a police report against Tyson, saying that he had kidnapped and sexually assaulted her. That led to police storming Tyson’s home and tearing it apart. And while Tyson and Mayweather were reportedly friendly prior to that happening, their friendship ceased to exist after Tyson was told by several people that Mayweather had instructed the woman to go to police because he was upset that Tyson was seeing her.

“Some serious people said it,” Tyson told Boxing Junkie, before adding that he’s never been able to find evidence to link Mayweather to the raid. “I’m good with it now…You can forgive, but you have to remember.”

Boxing Junkie attempted to track down the woman who went to police in 2001, but she did not return phone calls to them. Her aunt did speak with the site, though, and seemed to indicate that there was some level of truth to the story.

“A lot of that I know,” she said, when told about the allegations Francis made, “but I don’t want to tell it. I would rather her tell her own story.”
