Video: Judo Black Belt Taps To Knee On Belly

As I sit here and scratch my head, I wonder, how does a black belt in anything, tap to knee on belly. I don’t know if a tae kwon do black belt would tap to knee on belly.

This is the same principle that FILA (International Wresting Federation) did with Grappling and their so called ‘Gi Grappling’ (sic).

In this Ne Waza tournament in France back in 2007, a Judo black belt faced a BJJ player (blue belt at the time). The BJJ player used a very common position in BJJ: knee on belly. He actually was in half guard and was working for knee slice pass when he repositioned his knee right on his opponent’s plexus and applied pressure.

Watch the reaction of the Judoka who screams out loud in pain as he experiences the knee on belly pressure control  for the first time ever. If he had trained some BJJ, he would have been able to easily counter the move by shifting his body to the side. Check out the reaction of the BJJ player’s team mates who laugh out loud because they can’t believe that anybody would tap to a knee on belly.

You can hear them say in French:

In Judo, they don’t have that one!
