Video: Croatian Boxer Knocks Out Ref After Loss

It seems as if the ref could possibly be in on the take here. He could have just been a friend of the winner’s camp. Regardless, it is never a good idea to assault the referee because you don’t agree with his call.

Croatian-born boxer, Vido Loncar, loss his match at the European Youth Boxing Championship in Croatia. When they were getting ready to announce the results, Loncar snapped. He dropped the ref we a devastating punch that sent him to the canvas.

Eventually, Loncar was pulled off of the ref, but something that bothers me, the other fighter ran out of the ring instead of helping the ref.

Watch the incident unfold in the video.

UPDATE: AIBA issues a provisional life ban of Vido Loncar and his coaches, for the assault on the referee.

Lausanne, Switzerland, October 22, 2014 – The International Boxing Association (AIBA) Executive Committee Bureau has provisionally suspended Croatian boxer Vido Loncar for his entire life from involvement in boxing, as well as his coaches who were ringside in the 81kg category contest between Loncar and Lithuanian Baniulis Algirdas at the EUBC European Youth Boxing Championships in Zagreb, Croatia.
