Whether you believe the alt-facts or not, Donald Trump is not popular within the black community. Many believe he’s a racist, and even if he is not, his rhetoric incites hate towards black people.
A tradition that apparently dates back to the nation’s first president, George Washington, Donald Trump and his wife Melania, as well as Mike Pence and his wife, attended a prayer service at the Washington National Cathedral. Following the service, a procession of cardinals and priest walked by Trump and shook his hand. A black clergyman refused to shake hands with the newly elected president; he didn’t break stride in passing.
The next four years are going to be interesting.
