It looks like The Black Beast won’t be taking much time off after all. After his win last week at UFC Fight Night in Albany, NY, Derrick Lewis wasn’t impressed with his performance and said he would be taking time off. It must have been all the time he needed because he will get the #11 ranked Travis Browne on February 11 at UFC 208 in Brooklyn; the Black Beast loves New York pizza, allegedly.
In his post-fight interview at UFC Fight Night in Albany, Lewis mentioned wanting to fight Travis Browne on the Houston Fight Night card. Although he got the fight he wanted, the fight itself will take place a week later than anticipated.
Derrick Lewis is currently on a 5-fight winning streak after his TKO win over Shamil Abdurakhimov. Browne, on the other hand, is 1-3 in his last 4 fights, with losses to former champs Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum.
Here is how the card is shaping up so far.
Germaine de Randamie vs Holly Holm – for inaugural women’s featherweight title
