Brandon Moreno (12-3) was relatively unknown to UFC fans prior to his fight with Louis Smolka at UFC Fight Night 96. With a first round submission over the then ranked #9 flyweight, Moreno catapulted himself into the top 15 of the division.
Looking for a quick turnaround fight, Moreno gets his shot at Texas’ own, Ryan Benoit (9-4) at the Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale. Benoit, who’s known for finishing fights (8 out of his 9 fights), is currently 2-2 in the UFC. His most recent win was a split decision victory over Fredy Serrano at UFC 201.
The TUF 24 Finale is headlined by Demetrious Johnson, defending his flyweight title against the TUF 24 winner. Co-headlining the event, Henry Cejudo and Joseph Benavidez, this season’s coaches.
