UGK is one of my favorite rap groups. Although I am of fan of Bun B, it’s the voice of Pimp C that grabbed my attention and caused me to gravitate toward the Underground Kingz.
Bun B, Nas and more are featured in Long Live the Pimp, a new short documentary about the life and legacy of late UGK member Pimp C. The 30-minute piece details his origin story in Port Arthur, TX to his rise as one of your favorite rappers’ favorite rapper. Despite his lyrical dominance in his time, Pimp C was and still is, to some extent, unsung.
The film comes in conjunction with a posthumous album of the same name released by Mass Appeal Records, which is out now.
