‘The Last Emperor’ Fedor Emelianenko, makes his return to competition on New Years Eve. Emelianenko (34-4) is set to face Jaideep Singh (2-0), a kickboxer from India, on second day of the two-day event. This will be Fedor’s first match since his retirement in 2012, after a win over Pedro Rizzo.
Also on the card, BJJ world champion, Gabi Garcia. Garcia will be making her MMA debut in Japan, and will be taking on pro-wrestler, Seini Draughn, who will also be making her MMA debut.
Fedor is a heavyweight, although a relatively smaller one, and Gabi Garcia is reportedly walking around at about 230lb. This photo taken on the first day of fights in Japan, shows the two in a group photo. Although not standing side-by-side, you can see the type of size on Garcia, she’s a large woman. It’s going to be interesting to see what type of challengers they will be able to find for her, if she indeed decides to make a career out of fighting.
