Legacy Fighting Championship has been a hotbed for up and coming talent which eventually makes the jump to the UFC. The latest fighter, Legacy Welterweight Champion, Alex Morono.
An undisclosed injury has forced TUF winner Kelvin Gastelum, out of his fight against Kyle Noke at UFC 195. On less than two weeks notice, Alex Morono will step up to fill the spot. Morono is riding a 5-fight winning streak, which includes his latest win over former Legacy champ, Derrick Krantz, at Legacy 49.
Noke is on a 2-fight winning streak, and this will be his second Legacy vet he will face in the octagon. Noke previously fought former Legacy Middleweight Champion Andrew Craig, at UFC on FX 2 back in 2012, and lost a decision.
As far as Legacy veterans making the jump, most recently, Valentina Shevchenko won her UFC debut against Sarah Kaufman at UFC on FOX 17.
UFC 195 takes place on Jan.3 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, and the Morono vs. Noke matchup will take place on the undercard.
