Josh Thompson (20-8) recently signed with Bellator after failing to come to an agreement with the UFC on a contract extension. According to Thompson, the numbers didn’t makes sense to him, nor did the exclusive Reebok deal. Since returning to the UFC in 2013, Thompson is 1-3, and riding a three fight losing streak.
Mike Bronzoulis (18-8-1) captured the vacant Legacy Lightweight Title this past May, and is currently on a three fight winning streak since returning to Legacy. Prior to his return, Bronzoulis participated in the Bellator reality show, Fight Master, where he would lose to Joe Riggs in the finals.
With his return to Bellator, Bronzoulis vacates the Legacy title, and will welcome Josh Thompson to Bellator. They will meet at Bellator 142 “Dynamite”, on September 19. The event will be broadcast on Spike TV, and will take place at SAP Center in Thomson’s hometown of San Jose, Ca.
