Black Americans are the most marginalized race of people in this country. Black Americans are incarcerated at a higher rate than their white counterparts, and at the same time, are not given the same rights of being innocent until proven guilty, that others have, when charged with the same crime.
Kortney Ziegler designed an app called Appolition which is meant to aid Black Americans make bail in which they couldn’t afford themselves. The app works by rounding up purchases to the nearest dollar and donating that spare change to National Bail Out.
Appolition launched in November and has collected $16,000. Check out the video below to hear Kortney give details about his revolutionary app.
