UFC Announces Mick Maynard As Vice President of Talent Relations

After weeks of rumors and speculation, today, the UFC has confirmed that Legacy Fighting Championship President, Mick Maynard, has signed on as the Vice President of Talent Relations.

Maynard will work alongside Sean Shelby, a 14-year UFC employee who is being promoted to Senior Vice President of Talent Relations, in organizing UFC bouts, developing athletes on the roster, and scouting potential UFC talent. These moves come as longtime UFC executive Joe Silva is set to retire at year’s end after more than two decades with the organization.

Legacy FC launched in 2009, and since then, has sent several top talents to the UFC. The list is long, and includes former women’s bantamweight champion, Holly Holm, Olympic Gold Medalist Henry Cejudo, heavyweight knockout artist Derrick Lewis, and the hot prospect Sage Northcutt, to name a few.

“This is an incredible opportunity for me and I’m looking forward to delivering the action-packed, exciting fights that UFC fans have come to expect,” Maynard said.
