UFC Fight Night 97 takes place October 15 in Pasay, Manila, Philippines, and will stream on UFC Fight Pass. Recently added to the card, Houston’s Alex Morono (12-3, UFC 1-0), who will take on James Moontasri (9-4, UFC 2-3).
Alex Morono is stepping into the UFC octagon for the second time. In his debut, back in January 2016 at UFC 195, Morono earned a split decision win over Kyle Noke. Prior to his debut, Morono captured the Legacy FC welterweight title from then champion Derrick Krantz, via guillotine choke.
James Moontasri is looking to rebound from a loss against Alex Oliveira at UFC on Fox 20. Montasri has yet to put consecutive wins together under the UFC banner.
Also on the card, Houston’s own Black Beast, Derrick Lewis. Lewis is set to face Marcin Tybura.
