Sage Northcutt Back To Winning Ways With Decision At #UFC200

After suffering his first loss as a professional at UFC Fight Night in Newark, Northcutt was able to rebound against Enrique Marin. With a lot of talk ahead of ‘Super’ Sage’s return to the octagon, Northcutt was looking to prove his doubters wrong and show that being submitted by Bryan Barberena was a fluke.

Northcutt came out landing clean strikes early in the fight, but Marin was able to get the fight to ground midway through and quickly fished for several submissions. At one point, Marin had an armbar deep and it looked as if Northcutt would tap, but he eventually escaped.

Going into the third round, Marin was able to get the fight to the ground but was unable to do much damage. Sage was able to reverse position and finished the fight landing solid strikes. When the scores were read, all three judges scored the fight 29-28 for Northcutt.

Back to his winning ways, Sage showed improvement in this fight, and he also didn’t have a strep throat. I look for the UFC to continue to build the now 20-year-old.
