Legacy FC Signs One-Legged Fighter Matt Betzold

Legacy Fighting Championship recently announced the signing of one-legged fighter, Matt Betzold (6-3). Matt is currently on a 4-fight win streak, and will look for the 5th at Legacy 39 in February. As of now, no opponent has been named for the flyweight.

MMAjunkie’s Ben Fowlkes recently profiled the 31-year-old flyweight, who lost his leg as a child after eating poisoned candy. The longtime grappler then got a shot in MMA after fighting his local commission and finally getting licensed to compete.

The fighter, who now trains with the famed Team Alpha Male in California, has racked up four consecutive victories, all via submission. Although facing a lower level of competition during his winning streak, he should get a step up in opposition while fighting with Legacy FC.

Betzold said in the past, securing opponents could be tough. But he’s found one way to deal with the problem.

“Basically, I just talk sh-t,” Betzold said. “I call them out on their bullsh-t, and I don’t let them get away with it.”

Legacy 39 will take place in Houston, TX. Stay tuned for more Legacy 39 news.
