Larry Crowe Prepares for His First Title Shot

July 19th, Legacy FC 21 takes place at the Arena Theatre in Houston. There will be two title fights that night. The headliner being Matt Hobar vs Angel Huerta for the Bantamweight Title, and the co-main event a Middleweight Title fight between College Station’s Bubba Bush and Houston’s own Larry Crowe. Both fighters are coming off TKO wins, and with a title on the line, you can expect this one to be very exciting. I caught up with Mr. Crowe to discuss this fight and his future in MMA.

Crowe, who got into MMA simply because “…fighting was something I always enjoyed,” has definitely made a name for himself on the Houston MMA scene. He will be facing a tough opponent in Bubba Bush who trains out of BVMMA. Bush is a NAGA Champion and has a devastating ground game. Crowe however, says his main focus is to “keep it standing, and getting back up.” This will be Crowe’s first title fight and he seems very prepared for it, spending a lot of time at his gym 4oz and working on Bush’s strong points.

“The perfect ending would be a first round TKO, but I expect a good, hard, difficult fight.” As for Crowe’s plans for after winning the title, he said “man, more hard work. Plan on finishing the year as champ of Legacy, and you never no, maybe UFC if they need another superstar.” Crowe really respects Bubba as a fighter, says he is a “good dude” and plans to maybe work on his ground game with Bubba after the fight. He wants to work together to “show the world what Texas MMA is about.”

Larry Crowe also wanted to thank those that have helped him get ready for this fight. “First, big thanks to Mick, Colin, Andrea and the whole Legacy Family. Bob Perez, Daniel Pineda, Derrick Lewis, Carl Carrillo, my 4oz fam, Leroy & Soul Ruckus, Jeff Messina & Revolution MMA. Renan Chavez, SoSouth, all my fans friends family and sponsors who support TKC and give me the drive to be better, and my biggest inspiration, my son Jayden D Crowe, because he’s the reason I want to be better and do better. Also B3 Sports & MMA Overload.

If you can not make it out to the fights, you can catch Bubba and Larry fight for the middleweight title live on AXS TV.
